My oldest's personality can be described very simply like this: "compassionate & matter of fact/serious". She genuinely cares about people & doesn't do fluff. She doesn't understand analogies and is easily frustrated by them. She's also a little ADD.
So when are watching a talk show & talking about snowboarding, then she suddenly springs questions like this on me... I just have to be prepared to give a straight answer.
"Mom you know how Ellen is gay? Can she still go to Heaven?"
The short answer, your salvation has nothing to do with your sin. And we ALL sin differently. A sin is a sin and the worst of all would be not accepting Jesus at all or even refusing him.
I know it's much more complicated than this, but for now, we will leave it at that.
